Measurement concepts are empirical constructs situated between the theoretical-conceptual level and the actual empirical measurement. Concepts may either originate from theories or other conceptual work or from the combination of different empirical measurements. Measurement concepts may or may not have been applied in previous research and they may or may not be available in data sets or studies. The purpose of the articles in this section is thus to show links between measurement concepts and data sets on the one hand and measurement concepts and theories on the other. However, linking concepts to data sets is only available for MORE Studies and German Doctoral Candidates and Doctorate Holders Study ProFile. At some instances, concepts are linked to studies implying that the link is not directed at a certain variable in a data set but on a study as a whole instead.
